The Two Giants of Stable Diffusion
ComfyUI and Automatic1111 (A1111) are the two most popular interfaces for running Stable Diffusion locally. Both are free and open-source, but they take fundamentally different approaches.
Automatic1111 (AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui)
- Pros: Beginner-friendly, traditional web UI, huge extension ecosystem, well-documented
- Cons: Slower, higher VRAM usage, less flexible workflows
- Best for: Beginners, simple generations, quick experiments
ComfyUI
- Pros: Node-based workflow, faster generation, lower VRAM, reusable pipelines
- Cons: Steeper learning curve, less intuitive for beginners
- Best for: Advanced users, complex workflows, batch processing, production pipelines
Our Recommendation
Start with A1111 to learn the basics, then graduate to ComfyUI for advanced workflows. Both work great with prompts generated by PromptFrom.
